Coupon Inserts for 5/2/10

There will be three inserts this week, Proctor and Gamble, Red Plum and Smart Source.

Have a great weekend!

Triples trip(s) - Thursday, 4/29

Since this is my blog, I have the choice to tell you guys what I want/feel you need to know.  Alot of times, I think that you think that I am the perfect "Coupon Queen" because I share my deals with you and, I'll admit - they are usually pretty good.  However, I do screw up and don't always tell you.  This week, I'm putting it out there.  Here goes.....
So....I was at the 24 hour store at 6:15 on Thursday morning.  I will not be able to shop on Friday/Saturday (say it isn't so!!!), so I had to get a good shopping trip in.

I did two transactions - which I don't normally do, but I had reached my 20 coupon limit by Isle #6.  There was no one in the store AND the U-Scan cashier was extreeeemely nice - especially considering that he had been there ALL night.

I used my card for the first transaction and my Mom's card for the 2nd transaction.  Paid exactly what I thought I should've paid and picked up a couple of treats things for co-workers who bring me their Sunday inserts.

Life is good - I even had time to drop the cold stuff off at the house.

My BFF co-worker/couponer and I did a run at lunch.  She has not had a chance to go and I did not need an excuse. BUT - I had a terrible headache.  STILL, that didn't stop me.  She drove - which made it do-able.

We get there and she quickly reaches her 20 coupon limit.  I picked up a few thing and filled the remainer 20 with her items.

Her checkout is very smooth, her total is just as expected.  My turn next.  My original is $35.58.  The cashier scanned my coupons and I'm down to 9.98.  OMG - how could this be???? It should only be about $3 something???  I double check the coupons, double check the prices and everything looks fine.  Some of the coupons did not fully triple, but they will only triple up the amount of the item and there were plenty of things that I purchased that were under the amount of the items.  I suck it up, pay and we leave. Also, let me say that the cashier was VERY patient and scrolled up and down on the screen several times for me and even apoligized.  It certainly was not her fault.  She was VERY helpful.

Sitting in Chick Fil A, the light bulb goes off.  I used my Mom's card this morning to get a few items AND I used it today at lunch.  Not all of the coupons tripled.  OMG - my head STILL hurts, I'm in a fog and I paid $7 more than I should've.  OMG I think I will die (as I enjoy my Chick Fil A $6 meal - which my friend paid for because she felt so bad for me.  She also tried to pay for my groceries but I wouldn't let her).

It's actually quite comical now.  My headache is gone and my mind is clear (as clear as it can get).  It's $7 for goodness sake.  BUT - good thing I don't do this type of thing often - that could get really expensive!!!

How have your trips been?  Had any troubles/funny things happen to you?  I would love to hear about them!!!

First Harris Teeter Triples Run 4/28

Hubby and I rocked Harris Teeter this morning.

6 Farm Rich Cheese Sticks (better known as "we don't need these in our house/make your butt bigger cheese sticks")
6 Green Giant Steamers (balances out the cheese sticks)
5 Sargento Cheese - shredded
4 Carnation Evaporated Milk
4 Taster's Choice Coffee
6 McCormick Grill Mates
5 Planters Nut-trition Bars
4 Old El Paso Green Chilis
2 Coffeemate Creamers

Total: $101.75
Sale: -31.89
Coupons: -68.08
Total Out of Pocket:  $1.78

A few notes......

Supplies were good at the Robinhood Village location.  They were low on the Planters nut bars and did not have the organic cream cheese/half and half.  Maybe Whitaker will have these items.

In my opinion, the hottest items for this round of triples are going to be the "Make your butt bigger" Farm Rich Cheese sticks, Sargento Shredded Cheese and the Planters Nut Bars.   Palmolive dish detergent is also going to be free, and I think that is about the only "free" cleaning item.  Also, there is a good deal on the Ziploc bags......they will probably get gone fast.

A reminder of the rules:  There is a limit of 20 coupons that can be tripled per card per day.  If you have a bogo coupon or a $1 coupon, have them scan them last if you have 20 coupons that need tripling.  They will accept three of the exact same coupons for three items and two internet printables for two like items.

I also want to remind everyone why I shop at Robinhood Village.  The customer service is phenomenal.  OUT OF THIS WORLD.  You couldn't ask for a nicer, more accomodating group.  They are always friendly and you will NEVER get a bad attitude/eye roll like happens so many other times at other stores.

Have a great week and let me know if you have any questions. PLEASE let me know if/what deals I have missed and I will add it to the list.

HAPPY SHOPPING!!!!

Harris Teeter Triples

I'm going out on a limb here, but here goes.  I have heard from a non-confirmed source that TRIPLES will be April 28 - May 4.  I usually don't publish this information unless I hear from MY store, but I want to give you time to get ready.  It falls in line with the last couple of month's timing of Super Doubles/Triples.  If I hear anything different, I will update this post.

As usual, I will post a list of free/great deal items as the time approaches.

Grocery Store Pics for week of 4/21/10

This is an interesting week.  Only one free item (or at least that I see yet), but there are some good deals.  Good......not great.  There are only a couple of stockpile items (chix and Coffeemate at FL and possibly shrimp at HT).

93% ground beef:  $2.79lb. (Great Price - have seen it as low as $2.49/lb, but we will definately having burgers this week!!!)
Whole Chickens: .57 lb. STOCKPILE PRICE!!! (have seen them as low as .49/lb, but this is really close)
5 lb. bag russet potatoes: BOGO at $1.44 ea. (sale price)

Peter Pan Peanut Butter: $1.66 ea., use the printable $1.50/4 and it makes them $1.29 ea., Link:Peter Pan . Have seen it at a better price, but this is my DD's favorite, so I will get four.

Tilapia Filets: $3.99/lb.

Scott Bath Tissue is $2.99 for a 4 roll (1000 sheets per roll).  Use the $1.00 printable, Link: Scott

Fresh Rewards Deal:

March 2010 Savings

This was a fantastic month.  My goal was to shop less and purchase items that were free/absolute necessity.  My percentage of savings is extremely high and out of pocket was extremely low.  One thing that helped facilitate this was that I was on mini-vaca and didn't shop for 3 days  - (and I lived to tell about it - wow!). With that being said, I am starting to get low on a few things such as meat, pasta sauce and frozen bread. And, as a reminder....these totals include ONLY groceries/health and beauty aids....Not gas, clothing, shoes, or eating out.

Here are my totals:

Total Shelf Cost: $712.95
Total Coupon Savings: $320.48
Total Sale Savings: $274.40
Amount Paid Out of Pocket: $118.07
Rebates Owed: $34.99
Amount Paid (after rebates): $83.08
Savings Rate: 88.35%

I also spent about $22 on coupons in March.  I lead a team of couponers that purchase items for "Bridging the Gap" food pantry at Bridges Church and about half of those coupons were used for them. I could get reimbursed from the church for this, but my goal each month is to spend about $5 per week on donation items.  I think this could be considered a "donation" item, especially since I use these coupons to purchase items for the food pantry.

Have a great spring - enjoy the weather!!!
